Symantec End Point Protection Manager (SEPM) Console fails to Launch


Symantec Console fails to launch with below error.


An error as below is encountered when you try to start Symantec End Point Protection Manager (semsvc.exe) service from services console

"The Symantec End Point Protection Manager service on XXX started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts Service"

Also note following errors in event viewer





Cause: 
 The Java Virtual Machine (jvm.dll) fails to load as the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Module (MSVCR71.DLL) is either missing from System32/SysWOW64 folders or corrupt

Resolution
To resolve the issue, 

1. Ensure that correct Java version is installed and enabled on the server. (Verify that Java is working in your browser using the Test Java page.)

2. Copy the above mentioned DLL File (MSVCR71.DLL) from a working server to non-working server in System 32/SysWOW64 folders

3. Start the SEPM Service now.
